Adam Tyler Maliongas, 31, of Rushville, passed away at 3:54 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on July 24, 1984, in Macomb, Illinois, the son of Monte L. and Elizabeth (Owen) Maliongas. He married Stephanie Hood on October 20, 2007, at the Church of the Nazarene in Rushville and she survives.
Also surviving are his children Cody Morris and wife Jaymee, Abigail Morris and fiancée Todd Zeisler, Alex Kellerman, and Jakob Maliongas all of Rushville, five grandchildren Keaton, Dawsyn, and Jaxson Morris, Lillian and Brinlee Zeisler, his father Monte L. Maliongas and wife Annie of Cantrall, his mother Elizabeth Ingles and husband Jon of Camden, grandparents James and Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Owen, and Ozzie and Karen Maliongas all of Rushville, step grandmother Ruby Ragon of Bushnell, brother Louis Maliongas and wife Samantha of Rushville, step brothers Eric Ingles of Godfrey, Andy Ingles and wife Daphne of Camden, Tony Ingles of Godfrey, and Zack Ingles of Camden, mother-in-law Rita Geisler and husband James, father-in-law Harold Hood and friend Linda, grandparents-in-law Harlan and Margaret Terry of Littleton, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his uncle Richard “Rick” Owen.
Adam was a 2003 graduate of Rushville High School. He and Todd Zeisler began Backwoods Logging in 2011. Adam and Stephanie opened the Brick Street Grill on his birthday in 2015. He was a captain of the Scripps Park Wednesday Night Men’s Golf League and played in many tournaments. He enjoyed the outdoors, where he would bow hunt, fish, go mushroom hunting, and play softball. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing cards. He loved watching Cardinal Baseball. He also coached his son Jakob’s T-ball team.
Services will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 7, 2016, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Reverend John Sowers officiating. Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Memorials are suggested to an education fund for his son Jakob.
