Ann Crook

Ann Crook, 88, of Pleasant View, Illinois, passed away at 8:09 a.m., on Monday, October 16, 2023, at the Beardstown Health and Rehab Center.

She was born on July 9, 1935, in Philadelphia, Illinois, a daughter of Claude Manly and Della (Bell) Moore.  She married Charles Walter Crook on June 4, 1951, in Hannibal, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on January 10, 2011.

Ann attended Philadelphia High School.  She worked as a CNA for Schmidt Hospital and Snyders, before becoming a homemaker.  She was a Jehovah Witness.  Ann enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, canning, camping and fishing.  Lately, she loved playing bingo.

Ann is survived by her children, Judy McCurdy of Rushville, Harry “Butch” (Esther) Crook of Mt. Sterling, Michael Crook of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Roger (Jane) Crook of Frederick, Joyce (Kerry) Kettering of Frederick, John (Rose) Crook of Pleasant View, and Jim (Jody) Crook of Pleasant View, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Charles Crook, Jr., two great grandsons, sisters, Elizabeth Kirkham and Mary Surratt.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Triplett & Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.  Memorials are suggested to Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witnesses.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Messerer Cemetery in Frederick, Illinois.  Scott Burget to officiate the services. You are invited to share memories of Ann and leave condolences for the family at www.triplettwood.com
