Betty Louise Miller, 91, of Cedar Park, Texas and formerly of Golden, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022.
She was born on June 12, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois to James and Emma Lawton, both deceased. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Charlene Rompaski of Chicago, Illinois and Beverly Taylor and her brother-in-law Norman Taylor of Golden, Illinois. Still living are her sister Bea Fisher of Florida and her brother James Lawton of Kentucky. In 1949 she married Billy George Miller of Halls, Tennessee, deceased, and is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Carmen Miller of Canyon Lake, Texas and Larry and Leslie Miller of Burnet, Texas.
Betty moved to Texas joining her sons and worked at the Texas State Library for the Blind until her retirement. She lived an enjoyable retirement often traveling with friends and family. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and made lovely Nativity sets and stepping stones that have become family heirlooms.
For much of her life, she was a single parent who raised her sons as she was raised to be God loving, hard-working, and generous. Those who knew her loved her and will miss her.
Betty is also survived by her grandsons and their wives, Adam and Michelle Miller of Austin, Texas, Aaron and Holly Miller of New Braunfels, Texas, and Brandon and Andra Herrington of Rossville, Tennessee; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, from 4pm to 8pm at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
Funeral services honoring the life of Betty will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Triplett Funeral Home in Golden. Pastor Tom Robbins will officiate. Interment will follow at Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services. Memorial contributions in memory of Betty are suggested to the Faith Baptist Church of Camp Point.
