Bonnie Lisenbee

July 13, 1941 — December 18, 2015

Bonnie L. Lisenbee, 74, of Rushville, passed away at 1:58 PM, Friday, December 18, 2015, at the Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville.

She was born on July 13, 1941, in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of the late Gaylord and M. Eloise (Gillette) Melvin.  She married William “Bill” Lisenbee on January 26, 2008 in Rushville and he survives.

Also surviving are one daughter Amber Quinn and husband Travis of Littleton, one son Andee Ambrosius and wife Amy of Rushville, one step son David Meharg of Roodhouse and Nancy Davis and companion James Derry of Beardstown, 10 grandchildren Autumn Ambrosius, Connor Ambrosius and wife Tyffanie, Logan Ambrosius, Bill Dodds, Andree Ambrosius, Andrew Lang, Michaela Davis, Lacey Meharg, Waylon Meharg and Jesica Gyorkos, four great grandchildren Ava Rose Ambrosius, Keller Murray, Bionka and Kale Gyorkos and two sisters Gayleen Gillette and husband Richard “Dick” and Lyn Flowers all of Rushville, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Frank Melvin.

Bonnie graduated from Rushville High School in 1959.  She first owned and operated Ambrosius Accounting Service in Rushville.  She later received her administrator’s license and served as the administrator of Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.  She later worked as a dispatcher and office manager for Rushville Truck Lines and Hood Transportation both in Rushville.  She and her husband owned and operated Lazy L Trucking.

She was a former member of the Women of the Moose.  She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and puttering around the house.  She was an awesome cook known for her noodles and canning.  Bonnie taught herself to play the piano.  She also enjoyed working in the garden, where her flowers would attract hummingbirds.  She loved to go dancing.

Services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Pastor Charla Meyers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Tuesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.  Memorials are suggested to the Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
