Brixtyn Travis Bryant Cox, 4 month old son of Travis Cox and Kelsie Ashcraft of Rushville, gained his angel wings at 7:14 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born on December 21, 2019, in Jacksonville, Illinois.
Surviving are his mom and dad of Rushville, brother Zaiden at home, maternal grandparents Hedy Ackman of Rushville and Steve and Kathy Ashcraft of Browning, and Rob Funke of Rushville, paternal grandmother Kathy Kline, maternal great grandparents Judy and Bob Greer, Jon and Candy Ackman and Marilyn Cahill, paternal great grandparents Ralph and Doris Devore all of Rushville, three aunts Stevie Gray and companion Eric Wohlfeil, Madison Funke and Casey Chelette and husband Josh, cousins Maddox, Quinlee, Caien, Cyia and Calea, and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Jeff Cox, maternal great grandfather Robert “Bob” Ashcraft and paternal great grandparents Travis “Pops” and Janette “Nanny” Bryant and Bonny and Forrest Cain.
He was a very happy baby that loved sucking his thumb and being outdoors. When he was excited, he would jabber and smile at whoever was holding him. He loved his brother and enjoyed spending time with him. He was deeply loved by all of his family.
Due to the current health situation and directives from the Illinois Governor and the CDC, private graveside services will be held Tuesday at the Rushville City Cemetery, with Pastor Jason Triplett officiating.
