GOLDEN, Ill. -- Carlene Irene Juilfs, 80, of Golden, died Wednesday, (March 24, 2010) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Carlene was born on Feb.10, 1930, in Adams County, to Tobe and Grace Leenerts Haschemeyer. She married Lawrence Juilfs on Aug. 14, 1949, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden by the Rev. William Braun. Lawrence died July 2, 2007. Carlene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden. She had worked at Shanks Tomato Factory in Clayton, Huey Seed Company in Camp Point, Curry's Hatchery in Camp Point, Dennis Chicken in Augusta and was a substitute cook, custodian, and painted at Central High School in Camp Point before her retirement in 2003. She loved painting, watching baseball on TV, especially the Yankees and enjoyed NASCAR, going to the gambling boat and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. Carlene is survived by one son, Jerry Juilfs and his wife, Karen, of Golden; three grandchildren, Jim Juilfs and his wife, Leslie, of Peoria, Ariz., Gail Mast and her husband, Gary, of Fowler, Ryan Klauser and his wife, Jayna, of Quincy; six great-grand grandchildren, Alexandria Juilfs, Kris, Katie and Kailyn Mast, Adayre and Bradyn Klauser; two brothers, Irvin Haschemeyer and his wife, Minnie, of Camp Point, Virgil Haschemeyer and his wife, Donna, of Camp Point; three sisters-in-law, Alberta Haschemeyer of Camp Point, Florine Haschemeyer of Golden and Mary Lee Schutte and husband, Joe, of LaGrange, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur, Lester, and Elvin Haschemeyer and wife, Wanda. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Monday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Golden, with the Rev. Jim Trutwin conducting. Burial will be in Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden. VISITATION: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden.
