Carolyn Ellerman

Carolyn Sue Ellerman, 76, of Mendon, Illinois passed away at 2:23 PM on Sunday May 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born December 24, 1944 in Adrian, Illinois the daughter of Ben and Maxine (Miller) Appeldorn.  She married John Ellerman on November 18, 1961 in Quincy, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on April 5, 2005.

She was a graduate of Unity High School

She is survived by her special friend, Virgil Gooding of Mendon, daughter Debbie (Terry) Schlipman of Mendon; her sons Bob (Darla) Ellerman of Waynesville, MO; Jerry (Joann) Ellerman of Mendon; Gary “Herbie” Ellerman of Mendon; grandchildren, Aaron (Kristin) Schlipman of Maryville, IL; Jared (Rachel) Schlipman of Ursa, IL; Brandon Schlipman of Quincy, IL;  Jason (Jennifer) Kimpel of Rolla, MO; Jamie and Jordan Ellerman of Mendon, IL; Melissa (Brad) Voth of Mendon, IL; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Allison Schlipman of Maryville, IL; Emmett and Monroe Schlipman of Ursa, IL; Jenna, Jaci and Jason Kimpel of Rolla, MO; Logan, Hunter and Isabella Voth of Mendon, IL and Eryn Toolate of Hannibal, MO; two sisters Janice Miller of Macomb, IL and Snooky (Jerry) Lowe of Carthage, IL; her brother-in-law Doc (Mary) Ellerman and sister-in-law Addie Ellerman of Quincy, IL along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Rosalie (Rosie) Dilts and her son’s fiancé Raylene Walter.

Carolyn was the small business owner of JC Country Inn and JC Country Foods in Mendon.  She was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren’s activities.  She enjoyed traveling to watch the ball games, races, and tractor pulls.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Mendon Cemetery with Ron Tallcott officiating.  Visitation will be held on   Wednesday evening from 4:00PM until 7:00 PM at the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorials are suggested to Blessing Hospice.
