Clayton Taber

March 17, 1927 — April 21, 2019

Clayton L. Taber,92, of Golden passed away at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 21, 2019 in his home.

Clayton was born on March 17, 1927 in Griggsville to the late Roy Byrlie and Minnie (Moss) Taber. He married Grace Reckers on September 15, 1954 in Carthage. Grace survives of Golden.

Clayton served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a plasterer for Bud Montag and tended bar for Bud & Lolas in Golden for many years. He was a member of the Golden American Legion Post #801 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are; nine children, Dennis (Sherri) Taber of Quincy, Kevin (Sheila) Taber of Quincy, Diana (Mark) Stathem of Quincy, Linda Ward of Gig Harbor, WA., Larry Pratt of Prattville, AL., Gerry (Brenda) Pratt of Pinkneyville, Jeff (Tanya) Taber of Cuba, Nancy Means of Clayton, Johnnie Walters of Clayton;thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by; one son, TL Pratt; four brothers, Roy, Robert, Everett and Raymond Taber; four sisters, Betty Behrens, Wilma McCurry, Nancy Fern Smith and Ruby Rothbarth.

Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2019 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden with Ralph Fairchild officiating. Memorials contributions have been suggested to the Golden Good Shepherd Home or The Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
