Cuthbert "Beth" Strong

Cuthbert M. “Beth” Strong, 90, of LaBelle, Florida, formerly of Rushville, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020, at her home.

She was born on February 4, 1930, in Glades County, Florida, the daughter of William Henry and Cuthbert (Browning) McDuffie.  She married Thomas Brines Strong on April 15, 1966, in Fresno, California.  He preceded her in death on December 21, 2003.

Surviving are one son William Michael “Mike” Douglas of Gulf Breeze, Florida, one brother Henry McDuffie of Lakeport, Florida, one sister Glenora Purvis of Leigh Acres, Florida and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

During her lifetime, Beth, enjoyed deer hunting, saltwater fishing, salmon fishing and traveling with Brines.  They had many years of happiness traveling to Alaska, Washington State and other locations in their motor home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the Wood Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Rushville City Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to service time on Tuesday, July7, 2020 at the Wood Funeral Home.  Memorials are suggested to the Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
