David Crow, 85, of Ursa, passed away at 12:25 PM, Friday, December 3, 2021, at Adams Pointe Senior Living in Quincy.
He was born June 12, 1936, in his childhood home in Warsaw, IL to the late Otho Clarence and Meta M. (Weigand) Crow. He married Ruby Lucking on August 14, 1965, in St. Paul United Church of Christ in Fowler. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2014.
David was a 1954 graduate of Unity High School and a member of FFA. He served in the Army Reserves for 6 1/2 years and actively dedicated his life to farming for over 70 years.
David gave his life to our Lord Jesus Christ at a young age and had been an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Mendon. He enjoyed working with his wife raising a large family garden for many years. David and Ruby also enjoyed Bluegrass Festivals. He was a devoted son, husband, father, granddad and faithful friend.
David is survived by one daughter, Leanne (Paul) Walker, of Ursa, one grandson David Walker (Morgan Blickhan) of Ursa and one sister-in-law Ruth Shupe of Mendon, three nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruby, and one brother-in-law Wendell Shupe.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the Salem Lutheran Church in Mendon, with Reverend Jeffrey Corson and Chaplain Alan Rabe officiating. Interment will follow in New Providence Cemetery, at Ursa. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Salem Lutheran Church in Mendon. Memorials are suggested to Salem Lutheran Church.
