She was born Sept. 29, 1935, in Galesburg, a daughter to the late Harold S. and Ethel G. (Gunther) Stinson. She married Bruce A. Curless on April 4, 1956. He passed away Feb. 21, 2014.
Dorothy was a member of United Methodist Church of Loraine. She was a licensed practical nurse, working for St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy from 1973 until 1990 and then for Good Samaritan Home from 1990 until her retirement in 1999. She enjoyed collecting coins and Barbie dolls. She also made clothing for the Barbie dolls.
Survivors include two children, Craig Curless of Quincy and Vallie (Larry) Wellman of Plainville; four grandchildren, Aaron, Brandon, Benjamin and Andrew Wellman; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Stinson; and two sisters, Josephine Holman and Betty Parton.
SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday in the Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon, with the Rev. Connie Jenkins conducting. Interment will be in Curless Cemetery, near Loraine.
VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
