Elliott Flesner

Elliott E. Flesner, 83, of Quincy formerly of Golden passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Elliott was born on April 13, 1933 in La Prairie to the late J.R and Rachel Mae (Chambers) Flesner. He married Merlene Schlueter on September 14, 1952 in Golden. Merlene survives of Quincy.

Elliott served his country in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was in the Big Red 1 Unit and was stationed in Germany. He had been a farmer and heavy Equipment Operator working for Landmark Construction in Fenton, Mo. and for Leenerts Brothers Construction in the La Prairie and Golden areas. He was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Golden, where he was baptized and confirmed. He was a member of the 40 et 8 club and a past member of the Golden American Legion. He enjoyed boating, bowling, watching westerns and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are; his wife Merlene of Quincy, five children, Doug (Judie) Flesner of Camp Point, Denise (Bob) Schroeder of Fowler, Dennis Flesner of Golden, Deanne Flesner of Golden, Diane (Todd) Tournear of Camp Point, five grandchildren, Cory (Geneie) Kindhart, Angela (Eric) Gates, Cody Smith, Tristen Smith, Zachery Tournear, five great-grandchildren, Katie Kindhart, Tanner Kindhart, Kameron Kindhart, Olivia Gates, Lauren Gates and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Betty Flesner, Virginia Buss, Geneva Juilfs, Marilyn Post, and two half-sisters, Irene Gronewold and Florence Maxwell.

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Golden.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services in the funeral home on Wednesday.
