Georgeann "Georgie" Starman

Georgeann “Georgie” Starman, 93, of Quincy, passed away at 8:05 PM, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at The Arbors Memory Care Unit in Quincy.

She was born on January 27, 1928, in Quincy, the daughter of  George and Amanda (Bangert) Dedert.  Georgeann married Leaton R. Starman June 25, 1949, at Salem Lutheran Church in Quincy. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2019.

She was actively involved at Columbus Road Baptist Church, the Salvation Army, women’s prison ministry, and National Alliance on Mental Illness. Georgeann enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and travelling with Leaton.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Jillian Starman, grandsons Nicholas Starman and Christopher Starman, and granddaughters Elizabeth (Alan) Rischar  and Victoria Starman, and great-granddaughter Roxanne Starman. Georgeann is preceded in death by her husband Leaton, sons Kim Starman and Kyle Starman, daughter Michelle Starman, grandson Gregory Starman, and sisters Janet Dedert, Leatrice Dedert and Carlene Dedert.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the New Providence Cemetery in Ursa.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon.  Memorials are suggested to Alz heimer’s Association  https://act.alz.org/donate or Blessing Foundation for Hospice https://www.blessinghealth.org/blessingfoundation.
