Hannah Marie Mangold Slinker, 58, of Rushville, passed away at 11:46 AM, Monday, January 8, 2018, at her home.
She was born on July 10, 1959, in Salem, Missouri, the daughter of James and Mary (Prater) Mangold, Sr. She married Steve Slinker on December 19, 1975 in Astoria. He survives.
Also surviving are her four children Samantha Ahten and husband Arthur of Creve Coeur, Sarina Peavler and husband Kurt of Bloomington, Shannah Girard of Peoria, and Catlin Slinker and fiancée Katelyn Trunnell of Normal, six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, her mother and step father Mary and Rusty Sutton of Rushville, two brothers Daniel Mangold and wife Barbara of Frederick and Johnny Mangold of Rushville, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, son-in-law Bryan Girard, grandson Avery, brother James “Bud” Mangold, Jr., and sister Karen Gossage.
Hannah was a foster parent for many years. She was co-owner of JoHannah Ceramics in Peoria. She and her husband owned Reigning Colors Tattoos in Normal.
She was active with the Peoria PTA. She enjoyed fishing, painting. She loved kids and critters. She was always “adopting” her children’s’ friends and had all types of pets from cats and dogs to monkeys and reptiles. Her most precious gift was her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and interment of her cremated remains will be in the Littleton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Children’s Home in Peoria or Baby Fold in Bloomington.
