H. Louise Agans

H. Louise Agans, 96, of Rushville, passed away at 4:10 AM, Monday, October 16, 2017, at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville.

She was born on September 22, 1921, in Schuyler County, Illinois, the daughter of Alva and Freeda (Montooth) Roudebush.  She married Lora Vail “Tom” Agans on August 14, 1940, in St. Charles, Missouri and he preceded her in death on October 7, 2000.

Surviving are three children Sandra Brockman of Beardstown, Larry Agans and wife Debbie of Marion, Janie Ward and husband Jerry of Rushville, eight grandchildren Thomas Vail Brockman and wife Teresa, Jeffrey W. Brockman and wife Rhonda, Jennifer L. Lovekamp and husband Joseph, Melissa L. Orr and husband Tom, Heather Agans, Haley Kelly and husband Chad, Lacey B. Young and husband Tyler, and Harold Lee Ward and wife Jennifer, 16 great grandchildren Meagan Brockman, Zachary Brockman, Lakin Brockman, McKenna Brockman, Zachary Orr, Alexis Orr, Christopher Beyer, Hannah Barnewolt, Mallory Bowman, Lance Kelly, Paxton Kelly, Callen Young, Ellery Young, Ryan Ward, Madeline Ward and Joseph Ward, one sister Betty Bader of Morrisonville, Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one grandson Dusty Ward, one son-in-law Richard Brockman, one sister Geraldine Toland and two brothers Richard Roudebush and Robert Roudebush.

A 1940 graduate of Rushville High School, Louise worked for Quinn Shoe Store and as a bookkeeper for Boydston Lumber in Rushville.  She then worked with her husband at their business Tom’s Shell, retiring on March 15, 1980.

She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville.  She was also a member of the Adelaide Rebekah Lodge # 381 in Rushville and the Macomb Rebekah Lodge # 342 in Macomb.  She volunteered with Culbertson Hospital Auxiliary and at the Schuyler Jail Museum and Genealogical Center in Rushville.  She enjoyed crocheting.

Services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 19, 2017, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, David Haney officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.  Memorials are suggested to Hope Blooms or Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation.
