GOLDEN, Ill. -- Isabel Reuschel, 83, a lifelong resident of Golden, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Sunday (Dec. 15, 2013).

Isabel was born Feb. 24, 1930, to Gus and Ina Bruns.

Isabel graduated from Golden High School. She married Louis Reuschel on Oct. 29, 1950. Their 63-year marriage produced three children, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She assisted her husband Louis with running the family farm, worked 10 years as a cook at Golden Grade School, and 20 years in assembly at Methode in Golden. She was a great cook and gardener, enjoyed collecting dolls, attending music festivals, dancing, caring for and entertaining friends and spending time with family. She loved the Lord, was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in their Ladies Guild.

Surviving are her husband, Louis; her sister, Jeanette (Mike) VanMeter of Lewistown, Mo.; her daughter, Linda (Greg) Schuchmann of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren Chad Schuchmann, and Nachelle Mercer; great-grandchildren Caleb and Berkley Schuchmann, Melani Smith and Thierry and Isabel Mercer; her son-in-law, Randy Hess, of Omaha; grandchildren Corey Hess and Ellie Barko; great-grandchildren Emerson and Montgomery Hess; her son, Jeff (Teri) Reuschel of Golden; grandson Andrew Reuschel; her sister-in-law, Valera Bruns; and several nieces and nephews.

Isabel was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Brenda Hess; and her brother, Merle Bruns.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Golden, with Pastor David Armstrong-Reiner conducting.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the church.

MEMORIALS: Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorials will support work in global livestock, fresh water, health care. small business, agriculture, international emergencies and church growth.
