Jack R. Hull, 79, of Palmyra, Missouri, formerly of Mendon, passed away at 9:48 AM, November 21, 2020, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.
He was born October 3, 1941, in Quincy, the son of Lawrence and Omega (Scott) Hull. He married Karen R. Cobb on June 2, 1962, in Quincy and she preceded him in death on February 21, 1998.
Surviving are two children Tonja O’Brien and husband Gene of Maywood, Missouri and Trevor Hull and wife Allynn of Liberty, eight grandchildren Shelbie Cable, Avery Hudson and husband Christopher, Allison O’Brien, Ashley O’Brien, Audrey O’Brien, Paige Knuffman, Reese Knuffman and Addison Knuffman, five great grandchildren Brayden Cable, Kayden Cable, Layla Combs, Emberlynn Hudson, and Jordan Hudson, his siblings Bill Hull and wife Georgia and Dale Hull and wife Pam all of Litchfield, Linda Felsman and husband Ken of Champaign, Judy Stroup of Decatur, and Larry Hull and wife Janet of Atwater, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
A 1960 graduate of Quincy High School, he worked for Electric Wheel for 24 years. He later worked for Unit 4 School District in maintenance and as a school bus driver. He also worked for the Quincy YMCA maintenance department, retiring in 2010. He then returned to Unit 4 as a bus driver for another 3 years.
He was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church in Quincy. He enjoyed camping and golfing. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinal and John Wood Athletics fan. He loved attending his grandchildren’s activities and was known as Poppy to many of the kids.
Private family services will be held at the Mendon Cemetery in Mendon, where interment will follow. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Research Hospital or John Wood College Athletic Department.
