Kimberly Kae Gettman, 59, of Mendon, passed away peacefully at 5:26 am on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She was born on December 7, 1962, in Burt, Iowa, the daughter of the late Jack and Betty (Groen) Gettman. Kim graduated from Unity High School in 1981 and later graduated from John Wood Community College in Quincy. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years and was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital, Quincy Medical Group and Quincy Senior Center Supportive Living Facility. She was a member of the Mendon Congregational Church.
Kim had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to laugh. She loved taking care of her cats and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a brother; Randy (Ginger) Gettman of Winfield, Missouri, three sisters; Terri (Mark) Woodward of Denver, Colorado, Monica (Larry) Foster of Quincy and Jackie (Steve) Scholfield of Crocker, Missouri, nephews; Luke (Jeanette) Woodward, Jake (Diemmi Duong) Woodward, Greg (Andrea) Gettman, Sam (Malissa) Gettman, Bradley and Brandon Scholfield, nieces; Bethany (Allyus) Fritz, Rachel (Chris Machold) Foster and Kate Foster, great nieces & nephews; Jalyn Woodward, Liam, Grayson and Lynley Gettman, Anthony, Tennessee, Savannah and Walker Gettman and by several friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services honoring the life of Kim will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Mendon Congregational Church in Mendon. Pastor Larry Smith will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the Mendon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services on Friday. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorial contributions in memory of Kim are suggested to the Quincy Humane Society or to Blessing Hospice & Palliative Care.
