Larry Gayle Akers, Jr. 56 of La Prairie passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 in his home.
Larry was born on September 22, 1963 in Belgium, Germany the son of Larry G. Akers, Sr. and Monique (Dedonder) Sanders. He married Mary Sue Fritschle on September 25, 2010 at the Christian Church in Camp Point. His wife Mary survives.
Larry was a Licensed Practical Nurse and the owner of Area Drug and Alcohol Testing. He enjoyed camping, watching movies, gardening, crocheting, going out to eat, cooking, grilling, his motorcycle,4-wheeler and especially loved his children, grandchildren and his beloved dog Tass
In addition to Mary, Larry is survived by his mother, Monique Sanders of Quincy; three children, Bradley (Sandra) Akers of Colorado Springs, Co., Samantha Akers of Peoria, Az., Gail (Raymond Colbert) Harrison of Hannibal, Mo.; four step-children, Jennifer (Brandon) Lish of Liberty, Melissa (Alex) Neisen of Quincy, Michael Graff of Quincy, Jessica (Benny Lefringhouse) Seals of Quincy; five grandchildren, Axton, Joel, Hyliah, Alisabeth and Avery; eight step-grandchildren; one brother, Chris Akers of Payson; two sisters, Brenda (Rich) Lemke of Parkville, Mo., Andrea “Miki” (David) Ward of Holt, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Monday, December 16, 2019 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden.
