GOLDEN, Ill. -- Larry Kay Dieterle, 65, of Golden, died at 9:27 p.m. Thursday (March 25, 2010) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy. He was born on March 13, 1945, in Quincy, a son of the late John and Faye Leapley Dieterle. He married Dorothy Lee Heinecke on July 10, 1965, in Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Golden. A 1963 graduate of Central High School, he worked at Electric Wheel in Quincy from 1963 to 1982. He later worked at Midwest Patterns in Quincy and drove a bus for the Central Unit District No. 3 schools. He often drove the teams to football games and would have sandwiches prepared for them for the ride home. He also owned and operated Dieterle Garage until his health failed. He attended the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clayton and enjoyed going to the Quincy Raceways and youth sports activities. Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Frank Dieterle, Scott Dieterle and friend Shawna Friday, and John Dieterle and friend Jackie Kessler, all of Golden; three grandchildren, Kevin Dieterle and fiancAC.e Jessica Ham of Mount Sterling, Tyler Dieterle of Fowler and Kathryn Dieterle and friend Drew Sparks of Quincy; one great-grandson, Collin Dieterle of Mount Sterling; special friends, Dustin and Brandon Friday and Cody Haynes; his mother-in-law, Leona Heinecke of Golden; three brothers, Donald "Sock" Dieterle and wife Glendora, Richard "Dick" Dieterle and wife Valla Lou, all of Camp Point, and William "Bill" Dieterle and wife Marge of Golden; two sisters, Margaret Pracht of Waukegan and Martha Lantz and husband Roger of Quincy; four sisters-in-law, Jean Dieterle of Camp Point, Carol Altgilbers of Quincy, Mary (Mike) Herschler of Quincy and Betty Schmidt of Golden; two brothers-in-law, Roger (Pat) Heinecke of Golden and John Heinecke of Golden; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Eberhard Heinecke; one brother, John Dieterle Jr.; and two brothers-in-law, Rodney Pracht and Herb Schmidt. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clayton with the Rev. Robert Alexander conducting. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Cemetery in Golden.
