Lawrence Ray Sparrow, 85 of Gilbert, AZ formerly of the Loraine and Warsaw areas passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 in the Hospice of the Valley- Lund Home in Gilbert, AZ.
Lawrence was born on July 7, 1930 In Mendon to the late Alva James and Mabel Evaline (Adair) Sparrow.
Lawrence was a Farrier. He was on the Arizona Rangers Horse Division, trained Arabian horses and ran L & M Training Stables. He loved reading, dancing, watching birds and making things out of horse shoes.
Surviving are; five children, Lindell (Denise) Sparrow of Anderson, CA., Lyle (Gerrie) Sparrow of Harker Heights, TX., Larry Sparrow of Hornersville, Mo., Leo Sparrow of Phoenix, AZ., Mary Wagner of Casa Grande, AZ., thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, five great-great –grandchildren and two sisters, Dorothy Newell of Quincy and Lucy Lohmeyer of Quincy.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Downing.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon with Reverend Connie Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in the New Providence Cemetery, near Ursa. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions have been suggested to Faith Sisters, Inc. at 16017 West Ghost Ranch Rd. Casa Grande, AZ., 85122.
