Lloyd Dale Allen

Lloyd Dale Allen, 73, of Rushville, passed away at 6:05 AM, Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Aperion Care in Jacksonville.

He was born on February 6, 1946, in Pittsfield, Illinois, the son of Harry F. and Lula (Ames) Allen.

Dale worked in the maintenance department at the Vermont Foundry for many years.  Later, he served as a corrections officer at the Department of Corrections Illinois River Facility in Canton.  He served as a Boy Scout leader for many years and enjoyed playing pool.

Surviving are two brothers Dan Allen and wife Margaret of Jacksonville and Myrel Allen and wife Cheryl of Camden, two sisters Vera Gregory of Lowder and Margie Donithan of Worden, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one sister Linda Wagner and seven brothers Oren, Dick, Clayton, Robert, Carroll, Jerry, and Homer Allen.

Private interment will be in the Pinetree Cemetery at Patterson, Illinois.  Memorials are suggest to Hope Blooms.
