Lynn Carroll

Lynn Carroll, 66, of Rushville, passed away at 3:15 am on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born on October 24, 1957, in Beardstown, the daughter of the late William Ross & Letha (Kirkham) Dupoy. Following high school, Lynn enlisted in the United States Air Force. She married John Carroll in late 1979 and he preceded her in death in 1984.

Lynn was a lapidary arts teacher at Gem City Business College for many years, where she held classes on jewelry making. Later in her life, she was a dispatcher for Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department. She was a trivia buff among her family and friends and enjoyed attending various trivia nights in the area. Lynn loved camping, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and crocheting. She was a big fan of the Harry Potter movies.

She is survived by a son: Martin (Tanya) Morrell of Beardstown, a daughter; Shannon (Joe) DeWitt of Beardstown, several grandchildren, a brother; Bill (Sheary) Dupoy of Rushville and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents & husband, Lynn was preceded in death by two sisters; Lois McMillan & Janet Luparell.

In accordance with Lynn’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and public services will not be held. The Triplett & Wood Funeral Home of Rushville has been entrusted with the care and arrangements. Memorial contributions in memory of Lynn are suggested to the family.
