Margie Irwin

Margie Esther Elizabeth Irwin, 73, of Littleton, passed away at 9:36 PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born on December 3, 1946, in Jersey County, Illinois, the daughter of Hosie and Frances (Kanuss) Holder.  She married Darwin “Butch” Irwin on January 25, 1964, at his parents’ home in Schuyler County.  He preceded her in death on May 19, 2008.

Surviving are four children Ronda Fitzjarrald and husband Bill of Bowen, Darwin D. Irwin and wife Kelly of Marthasville, Missouri, Lynn A. Irwin and wife Heather of Littleton, and Doyle L. Irwin and wife Julie of Crossville, 20 grandchildren Sarah McDonald and husband Brian, Hannah Kalebaugh, Isaac Kalebaugh, Rachel Branson and husband Ben, Levi Fitzjarrald, Brandon Irwin and wife Cindy, Joshua Irwin and wife Courtney, Katelyn Irwin,  Lindsay Irwin, Dusti Ingles and husband Zack, Eli Irwin, Jordan Irwin, Cylas Irwin, Remi Irwin, Tanner Irwin, Garrett Irwin, Morgan Ray, Anthony Ray, Jordan Ray and wife Sheyenne, Josiah Irwin, eight great grandchildren Dylan, Brice, and Kassanee McDonald, Elizabeth Burton, Ava, Josie, and Priscilla Irwin, and Addison Ray, three brothers Mitchell Holder of Jerseyville, Paul Holder and wife Kathy of Springdale, Arkansas, and Tommy Holder and wife Kay of Versailles, three sisters-in-law Bonnie Holder of Princeton, Jane Holder and Mary Holder both of Meredosia,and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers Hosie Holden, Jr., Robert “Bobby” Holder, Dee Holder, Claude Holder and two sisters Agnes Loness and Annetta McClendon.

She was a homemaker and member of the body of Christ, attending various churches.  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and cooking.  She also enjoyed sharing food and the love of Christ.  She treasured friendships with people of all walks of life.  She especially loved her extended family in the Amish Community.  She left a legacy of faith, family and friendship

Due to the current health situation and directives from the Illinois Governor and the CDC, private graveside services will be held at the Littleton Cemetery, with Brother Matt Haberman officiating.  In lieu of monetary memorial contributions the family suggest that you honor Margie by helping the poor, feeding the hungry and strengthening your community.  Margie took guidance from 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”.
