Mariam was born on July 19, 1918, in rural Ursa. She was a daughter of Ray D. and Ursa Frazier Worley.
She married Richard E. Daugherty on June 25, 1938, in Palmyra, Mo. Richard died Jan. 21, 1980. To this union was born twin daughters, Diane Dee and Deanne Lee, on their mother's 21st birthday.
Mrs. Daugherty attended Ursa Grade School and three years at Ursa High School. In her senior year, she transferred to Quincy High School, graduating in 1936.
She was a lifetime member of the Ursa Christian Church. She was employed by Moorman Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1985. She loved to be outdoors tending her yard and flower gardens.
Surviving are her daughter, Diane D. (Richard) Harshman of Ursa; two grandchildren, Vaughn (Shannon) Harshman of Ursa, Denise (Alan) Dedert of rural Quincy; three great-grandchildren, Heather (Clint) Allen of Taylor, Mo., their children, Reid, Victoria, Wade and Ryne, Chad Dedert of rural Quincy, Molly (Scott) Bunge of Camp Point and their children, Baylee and Brooklyn. Also surviving are Kenneth (Janet) Schmelzle and their daughter Teri of Payson; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Garner of Quincy, Dorothy Schilling of Warsaw; two special friends, Sharon Hemming of Quincy and Karen Nolan of Jacksonville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Deanne L. Schmelzle; one sister, Lucille Worley; her mother and father-in-law, William and Nellie (Yenter) Daugherty; and two sisters-in-law, Mariam Gallamore and Phyliss Wiesemann.
SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday in Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon, by the Reverend Bill Mitchell. Interment will be in New Providence Cemetery near Ursa.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Monday until time of services in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: Ursa Christian Church or the North Adams Home.
