She was born Oct. 7, 1932, in Adams County, a daughter of the late Rickus and Sena Fredericks Hippen. She married Earl Wayne Haschemeyer Sept. 10, 1950, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden. Earl died Feb. 25, 2008.
Marilyn graduated from Golden High School in 1950. She played the organ for 50 years, first at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, then at Trinity Lutheran Church and also at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She started working at Black Funeral Home when she was 13 years old, then for Briggs Funeral Home and later Hunter Funeral Home, all in Golden, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden, the Model T Club and the Golden Historical Society. She loved to play duets on the organ, traveling, and in her younger years, going square dancing with Earl.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Minette and her husband, Kevin, of Cocoa, Fla., and Diane Haschemeyer-Lucas and her husband, Dr. Mel, of Town and Country, Mo.; two grandchildren, Nicole Haschemeyer and her fiancA�AC., Kyle Huppe, of Arenzville and Jacqueline Haschemeyer of Clayton; a daughter-in-law, Janice Holmes and her husband, Ray, of Clayton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Victor Haschemeyer; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Marie Hippen.
SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Golden, with Pastor James Trutwin conducting. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Golden.
VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Hunter Funeral Home, Golden,
