Marjorie Dieterle

Marjorie J. Dieterle, 82, of Golden, passed away at 7:46 PM, Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden.

She was born on October 18, 1939, in Galesburg, the daughter of Otho and Anna (Goertz) Riggins. She married William “Bill” Dieterle on September 4, 1960, at the Methodist Church in Golden and he survives.

Also surviving are three daughters Cindy (Donnie) Boyer of Quincy, Sherry Dieterle of Golden and Lisa (Aaron) Newell of Camp Point, four grandchildren Jessica Showman, Ashley (fiancée Jerrod Snow) Boyer, Kylee (Jackson) Green, and Connor Newell, four great grandchildren Olivia, Emma, David and Max Showman, one brother Anthol (Sally) Riggins of Oro Valley, Arizona, three sisters-in-law Margaret Pracht of Waukegan, Martha (Roger) Lantz of Quincy, and Dorothy Dieterle of Golden, one brother-in-law Richard “Dick” (Valla Lou) Dieterle of Camp Point, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by three brothers Roger Riggins, Dean (Kathy) Riggins, Maurice (Betty) Riggins, and brothers-in-law John (Jean) Dieterle, Jr., Donald (Glendora) Dieterle, Larry Dieterle, and Rodney Pracht.

Marge was a 1957 graduate of Central High School.  She was a stay-at-home mom. After her daughters were older, she began working as a cook at the Golden Windmill until it closed. She then worked at Pizza Express in Camp Point for many years.

She and Bill were both members of the Gold Wing Road Riders and the National Street Rod Association.  She enjoyed cooking and baking.  Her greatest times were with her family.

Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden, with Pastor Sheri Renner officiating.  Interment will follow in the Golden Community Cemetery in Golden.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden.  Memorials are suggested to the Golden Good Shepherd Home.
