Mary Parker

Mary Ella Parker, 91, of rural Ursa passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in the North Adams Home in Mendon.

Mary was born on May 24, 1925 in Lima Township. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Ella (Baecker) Henerhoff. She married Rollie Ernest Parker on November 18, 1950 in the Zion United Church of Christ in Ursa. Rollie passed away on March 15, 1989.

Surviving are; four children, Robert F. (Rosemary) Parker of Ursa, Nancy A. (Kelvin) Hufendick of Ursa, David R. (Lisa) Parker of Donnellson, IA, Dean W. Parker of Ursa, grandchildren, Carrie E. Parker of Ursa, Nathaniel E. (Fiance Morgan Mohr)  Parker of Quincy, Katherine E. Parker of Waterloo, IA., Anna M. (Keith) Stewart of Springfield, Amie R. (Clifton) Hake of Richview, Jonah (Abby) Parker of Iowa City, IA., Lynnely G. Parker of Chicago and one great- grandson, Maxwell Parker of Iowa City, IA.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and Carl Henerhoff.

Mary attended Fawbush Grade School then attended Lima High School for three years before graduating from Mendon Township High School. She was a cook at Greenfield Elementary for many years and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Ursa, where she was active in the Women’s Fellowship. She was a lifetime member of the PTA and enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, gardening and birdwatching.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the Zion United Church of Christ in Ursa with Pastor David Schuring officiating. Interment will be in the New Providence Cemetery near Ursa. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, July 22, 2016 in the Zion United Church of Christ in Ursa. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions have been suggested to the Zion Church in Ursa, North Adams Home or Unity Point Hospice.
