Miss Louise Schoene

April 16, 1921 — September 13, 2017

Miss Louise Schoene, 96, of Golden passed away at 7:55 A.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden.

Louise was born on April 16, 1921 in Houston Township to the late Henry and Anna (Post) Schoene.

Louise lived around and in Golden her entire life. She worked for various families in the area as a housekeeper. She and her sister, Velma, were custodians at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Golden for many years. Louise was a friend to many. She enjoyed visiting with people, watching game shows on t.v. and reading her bible. She never learned to drive. She walked every day to the post office and lived in her own home, keeping it immaculate until last year, when she decided to move to the Golden Good Shepherd Home. She was very happy and enjoyed her time there.

A special thanks to the staff of the Golden Good Shepherd Home for the love and care they provided her in her final year.

Surviving are; one sister-in-law, Delorus Schoene of Burlington, IA.; three nieces, Darlene Hank of Burlington, IA., Connie Krieger of Burlington, IA. And Kathy Swafford of Golden.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lavern and Melvin Schoene and one sister, Velma Schoene.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 15, 2017 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Golden with Reverend Patricia Reep officiating. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Golden. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Golden Good Shepherd Home.
