Penolia Lickey

Penolia Ellen “Peggy” Lickey, 90, formally of Brooklyn, Illinois, passed away at 3:45 AM Friday, September 9, 2022, at Wesley Village Health Care Center in Macomb, Illinois.  She was born on March 27, 1932, in Lamoine Township, McDonough County, the daughter of William Leroy and Allie Marie Setser Goodridge.  Peggy married Vernon Eugene Lickey on October 13, 1954, at the Presbyterian Church in Macomb, Illinois.  He preceded her in death.

Peggy is survived by a daughter, Anita (Curt) Durham of Peoria, Illinois; grandchildren:  James (Kristy) Wessel, Julie Anthony, Jennifer (Darren) Theis, Jill (Travis) Pruvost, Kayla (Jacob) Wescott, Amanda (Drew Mahan) Lickey; and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Janis Finley, a son, Lyle Lickey, and a son-in-law, Gary Finley.

Peggy was a RSVP volunteer for the Schuyler Jail Museum of Rushville and a volunteer at HELP Center of Rushville, where she served as secretary.  Peggy was also a correspondent for the Littleton and Brooklyn communities for the Rushville newspaper, keeping locals up to date with social news.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Triplett & Wood Funeral Home of Rushville with Pastor Dan Wise officiating.  Burial will be in Brooklyn Cemetery immediately following the funeral.

Visitation will be held between 10:00 and the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
