Ray Flesner

February 21, 1945 — November 4, 2020

Ray E. Flesner, 75, of Golden, passed away at 3:15 AM, Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at his home.

He was born on February 21, 1945, in Quincy, the son of Edward and Reva (Maynard) Flesner.  He married Joan Hughes on May 29, 1965, in Golden and she survives.

Ray was a 1963 graduate of Central High School.  He was retired from Adams Telephone Co-op and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in both in Golden.

He enjoyed playing softball, golf, following Nascar and playing cards.  He also cherished attending many grandkids sporting events and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his wife, three children Denny (Paula) Flesner of Mt. Sterling, Brenda Miller of Golden and Chad Flesner of Camp Point, seven grandchildren Jessica (fiancée Jeremy McGuire) Miller of Chicago, Elizabeth (Alex) Ruggles of Meredosia, Caden Miller of Quincy, Kennedy Flesner of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Trey (Danielle Reed) Flesner of Camp Point, Drew Flesner of Forsythe, and Bryce Flesner of Omaha, Nebraska, and one great grandson Lachlan Flesner of Camp Point, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden with Reverend Ronald Graham officiating.  Interment will follow in the Golden Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Memorials are suggested to the Central High School Athletic Program.
