Rex Gilbert Chance, Jr., 54, of Industry, passed away at 1:10 AM, Friday, June 1, 2018, at his home.
He was born on October 23, 1963, in Lawton, Oklahoma, the son of Rex Gilbert and Bonnie Lucille (Vaughn) Chance, Sr. He married Nancy Steele Lawhorn on May 7, 2018, in McDonough County and she survives.
Also surviving are five children Shalee Chance of Kansas, John Chance of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Shayla Lawhorn of Mattoon, Tyler Lawhorn of Humboldt, and Britlynn Lawhorn of Industry, six grandchildren, five sisters Cheryl Riley and husband Danny of Tyler, Texas, Renee D’Ambrosi of Amarillo, Texas, Brenda Frost of Arkansas, Linda Sue Chandler and husband David and Donna Santos all of Wichita Falls, Texas, two brothers Mike Chance and wife Michelle of Littleton and Wendell Chance of Salisbury, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father Dean Rose, sister Heidi Carlson and brother Gary Morris.
Rex worked as a jack of all trades, including being a mechanic, carpenter and over the road truck driver. He loved to tinker and could fix anything. He could disassemble a motor and put it back together again in no time. He loved being outdoors hunting and fishing. He never met a stranger and loved to talk.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
