Rosemary Trimble, age 91, of Peoria, Illinois and formerly of Rushville, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 5:35 PM at Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Memory Care in Peoria. She was born on April 16, 1931 in Frederick, Illinois, the daughter of Bernard and Mary (Dickinson) McCombs. Rosemary married E. Wayne Trimble in Rushville, Illinois on October 23, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2001.
She is survived by her son, Roy (Teresa); a daughter, Ruthanne (Kevin); six grandchildren: Emily (Ben), Alyssa (Nathan), Joshua (Elisabeth), John, Jacob, and Michael; and three great grandchildren: Oliver, Emmett, and Arden. Also surviving are her brothers: Wendell (Deni) and Jim (Peggy), and sister-in-law, Philena McCombs, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Carol Ann, Bernadine, Herbert, and Frank.
Rosemary graduated from Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois. Prior to the birth of her children, she worked at Rushville State Bank. When the children were both in school, Rosemary and Wayne bought a men’s clothing store in Rushville and remained owners and operators for ten years. After this endeavor, Rosemary became affiliated with Aflac in Rushville and later in Peoria, Illinois. She slowly transitioned into retirement, becoming fully retired in 2013. Rosemary touched many lives with her generosity and kindness.
She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville. She was very involved in both her church and community while living in Rushville.
The family sends a special thank you to the staff of Villas of Holly Brook, who provided such loving care to Rosemary, and to VITAS Healthcare.
A visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, between 10:00 AM and noon, at Triplett & Wood Funeral Home of Rushville. The Funeral Service will be held at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Rucker officiating. Cremation will be accorded with burial of ashes at a later date.
Memorials have been established for First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) or Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation, both of Rushville.
