Ruby F. Schlueter, 97, of Golden, passed away at 12:25 AM, Monday, October 13, 2020, at the Timberpoint Health Care Center in Camp Point.
She was born on May 15, 1923, in Bowen, Illinois, the daughter of Harm and Verda (Howk) Buss. She married Richard Schlueter on October 16, 1943, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1983.
Surviving are one daughter Elaine Parker of Marquette Heights, three grandchildren Gary Parker and wife Angie, Lisa Harrison and husband Ted, and Dawn Parker, seven great grandchildren Jason Young, Trevor Parker, Brandon Parker, Kyle Harrison, Michael Harrison, Michael Killebrew and Nate Killebrew, three great great grandchildren Caleb Young, Bryson Young and Kinsley Chamberlain, one brother Donald Buss of Golden, and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Ruby was a homemaker and after her husband passed away she babysat.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and it’s sewing circle. She enjoyed reading and knitting.
Private graveside services will be held at the Golden Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Ronald Graham officiating. Interment will follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or Timberpoint Health Care Center in Camp Point. The Hunter Funeral Home in Golden has been entrusted to care for Ruby and her family.
