Ruth Phillips

Ruth A. Phillips, 85, of Augusta, passed away at 7:31 PM, Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born on November 12, 1932, in Fall Creek Township, Adams County, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Dora (Keil) Baker.  She married Ralph Phillips on January 26, 1952, in Fall Creek Township, Adams County, Illinois.

Surviving are her husband Ralph Phillips of Augusta, one daughter Kathy Walck and husband Ed of Spring Grove, Illinois, two grandchildren Angie Kruse and husband Ryan and Thomas Phillips, two great grandchildren Silas and Aubrey Kruse, one son-in-law Kirk Fauver of Austin, Texas, one brother Lester Baker of Quincy, one sister Gladys Walz of Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one daughter Deborah Fauver, one son Robert Eugene Phillips, three brothers Donald Baker, Alvin Donald Baker and Ralph Baker, three sisters Margaret Baker, Velma Kuntemeier and Charlotte Nesbitt.

Ruth was a homemaker and worked side by side with her husband on the family farm.  She was a member of the former Huntsville United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed genealogy and always had a big garden.

Private graveside services will be held at the Huntsville Cemetery, near Huntsville.  Memorials are suggested to the Huntsville Cemetery.
