Sylvia DeCroix

Sylvia Marie (Schoonover) DeCroix, 69, of Rushville, passed away at 5:00 AM, Monday, August 9, 2021, at her home.

She was born on August 23, 1951, in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Stanford P. and Juanita L. (Pickel) Schoonover.  She married Charles J. DeCroix on May 27, 2005, in Rushville.  He preceded her in death on December 18, 2015.

Surviving are her companion Alan Williams of Rushville, two daughters Kelly Hills and husband Mike of Mattoon and Jenny Farris of Louisville, Illinois, four stepchildren Andrea Deamery and husband Mark of Blue Mound, Chuck DeCroix and wife Wendy of Smith Grove, Kentucky, Michelle Rousey and husband Matt of Williamsville and Gina Russell and husband Patrick of Springfield, three grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, one sister Sandy Schoonover of Louisville, two brothers Darrell Schoonover and wife JoAnn of Louisville, and  Dale Schoonover and wife Carol of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, sister-in-law Ronna Schoonover of Louisville She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Shirley Peters and two brothers Donald Schoonover and Gary Schoonover.

She retired as an accountant for the Midwest Laborers Regional Office in Springfield.

Sylvia was a member of the Laborers Local # 477 in Springfield, the Beardstown Elks Lodge # 1007, Rushville Moose #506, the American Legion Auxiliary in Louisville, and the VFW Auxiliary in Anna.  She enjoyed country music, traveling, golfing, hunting and fishing.  Her most cherished times were spent with her family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 13, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Pastor Jason Triplett officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, August 13, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Beardstown Elks Lodge # 1007.
