Teddy Mac Parsano, 79, of Rushville, passed away at 1:45 PM, Friday, June 9, 2017, at his home.
He was born on January 8, 1938, in Rushville, Illinois, the son of Harley and Ada (Chockley) Parsano, Sr.
Teddy served as a cook in the US Navy, from 1956 until retiring in 1976. He then worked as a machine operator at NTN Bower in Macomb for 20 years retiring in February of 1999.
He was a member of the Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and the White Hat CB Club. He enjoyed woodworking, dancing and camping.
Surviving are his longtime buddy Steve Campbell of Rushville, the children of his longtime companion Helen Kelly: Jeanie Kirkham and husband Bud of Camden, Joyce Stambaugh of Astoria, Jim Kelly and wife Pam, Jack Kelly and wife Dixie all of Camden, Helen’s grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Pauline Parsano of Rushville, one brother-in-law Harold Anderson of Peoria Heights, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, longtime companion Helen Kelly, her son Jerry Kelly, her grandson Scott Kelly, her granddaughter Cindy Mangold, two brothers Harley “Parsie” Parsano, Jr., and George Parsano, three sisters Frances Young, Ida Mae Anderson and Jenny Emery.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with David Haney officiating. Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery with military rites by the US Navy Honors Detail and the Schuyler American Legion Post # 4. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Memorials may be given to Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Big Buddy Program in Rushville.
