Thomas "Tom" Morss

Thomas (Tom) D. Morss, 71, of Fowler passed away on Thursday August 16, 2018 in his home.

Tom was born on July 6, 1947 in Keokuk, Iowa to the late Hubert and Eunice (Cumming) Morss and was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Unity High School in 1965 and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Tom was a machinist with Gardner Denver for over 35 years.  In his early days he enjoyed riding Harley Davidsons. He took pride in the music he played as a lead guitarist for many years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending his great-nieces and great-nephews ball games. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Surviving are; his wife, Joyce of Fowler; One son, Chad Morss of Quincy; one brother, Timothy Morss of Corpus Christi, TX.; one sister, RuthAnn Morss of Northglenn, CO.; nieces, Susan (Joe) Mayfield of Mendon, Nancy Maglioacchetti of Mendon, Tammy McCune of New Canton, Jessica Morss of Marietta, GA.; nephews, Rick (Lynne) Corrigan of Quincy, Rusty (Kim) Corrigan of Ursa, Mark (Katie) McCune of IA., Matthew McCune of Quincy and Michael (Shawna) McCune of Quincy. Also surviving are; two sisters-in-law, Janice (Russell) Corrigan of Loraine, Anita McCune of Mendon and one Brother-in-law, Tom McCune of Mendon.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas; a nephew, Nathan Morss and his brother-in-law, Jerry McCune.

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon with Russell Corrigan officiating. Interment will be in the New Loraine Cemetery in Loraine. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon.
