Troy Jay "T.J." DeMoss

Troy Jay “T.J.” DeMoss, 35, of Rushville, passed away at 3:03 PM, Friday, July 1, 2016, at his home.

He was born on May 17, 1981, in Macomb, the son of Mike and Karen (Danner) DeMoss.  He married Tina Shaffer on June 7, 2014, at their home and she survives.

Also surviving are his parents Mike DeMoss and Karen Danner, his brother Keith DeMoss and wife Michel, and his grandmother Linda Brown all of Rushville, his grandfathers Wendell “Tuffy” Danner of Rushville, and Duane Himmel of Topeka, Illinois, his nephew Keaton DeMoss, niece Kynzie DeMoss, his mother-in-law Janet Shaffer of Macomb, sisters-in-law Tammy Fisher and partner Eddie Strickland of Macomb and Teresa Logsdon and husband Joe of Colchester, several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Ronald “Lefty” DeMoss and Robert “Bob” Brown, grandmother Wanda Himmel, his uncle Mitchell DeMoss, cousin Nathan Cooper and father-in-law Harold “Bill”Shaffer.

A 2000 graduate of Rushville High School, T.J. drove a semi-truck, a job he truly loved.  He also enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, spending time with his nephew and niece, and his dogs Katie, Zoey and Tank.  He was a huge Cardinal Baseball Fan.  He had a loving heart and cared about everybody.

Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Reverend Grant Armstrong officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.  Memorials are suggested the Troy “T.J.” DeMoss Memorial Fund.
