Vivian K. Dickerman, 73, of Mendon passed away at 7:32 P.M. on Monday, December 24, 2018 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Vivian was born on January 7, 1945 in Quincy to the late Charles and Mary (Hoebing) Loos.
She graduated with the Class of '63 at Payson Seymour High School. She married John Dickerman on September 28, 1968 in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. They had just celebrated 50 years of marriage. John survives of Mendon.
Also surviving are; four children, Shawn (Jennifer) Dickerman of Quincy, Deanne (Chris) Patterson of Nashville, TN., Randal (Mandi) Dickerman of Quincy, Janel (Tom) Shaffer of Ursa; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Carolyn, Corinne and Kannon Dickerman, Madelyn and Eva Dickerman, Sophia, Jillian and Meredith Shaffer; one brother, Chuck (Mary) Loos of Payson; sister-in-law Joyce Loos of Quincy; brother–in-law, Roger Lindeen of Galesburg; brother and sister-in-law, Wilfred and Norma Venvertloh of Quincy.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Loos and one sister-in-law, Ann Lindeen.
Vivian was an active member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon, where she enjoyed singing alto in the choir. Taking pride in her work as a residential housecleaner, she grew long-lasting relationships with her "families".
She helped John run the family farm. She was active in the community as a Little League coach, PTA president, Creative Learning Center board of directors, and as the Loraine Fall Festival pageant director.
In her "Glory Days", Vivian was a softball infielder. She could be seen at many Mustang and Raider sporting events and music concerts of her children and grandchildren.
Vivian loved the Adams County Fair; attending hog shows and exhibiting her award-winning and famous tea rings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 31, 2018 in the St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Mendon with Father Jeff Stone and Father Aaron Kuhn officiating. She will be laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery in Quincy. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M on Sunday, December 30, 2018 in St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Mendon with a Vigil Service to be held at 6:00 P.M. in the Church. Masses have been suggested to St. Edwards and Memorials have been suggested to The Unit 4 Foundation or the North Adams Home Building Fund.
