Wanda Needles

Wanda R. Needles, 89, of Ursa, passed away at 5:59 PM, Monday, January 28, 2019, at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon.

She was born on March 4, 1929, in Bowen, the daughter of Charles and Laura (Cook) Casley.  She first married Arthur Seliner and later Henry Gene Winhold and both preceded her in death.  She later married William O. Needles on July 5, 1984 in Palmyra, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on May 10, 1998.

Surviving are one daughter Louise (Dan Roberts) Seliner of Mattoon, one son Charles Winhold of Garland, Texas, four grandchildren Christopher Hudnut, Allen Hudnut, Brian Hudnut, and Anita (Fred) Boling, four step grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, one sister Louella Schoonover, two sisters-in-law Ruth Casley of Ursa and Mary Jane Casley of Quincy, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one daughter Judith Ann Hudnut.

She was a babysitter in her own home for over 20 years.  She enjoyed painting ceramics and quilting.  She loved to read.  She was especially fond of romance novels and could read a Harlequin romance in a day.

Services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 4, 2019, at the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon, with Pastor David Schuring officiating.  Interment will follow in Quincy Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 10:00 Am until Service time Monday at the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon.  Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
